Android Jump Start PRO
Doing your first steps developing for the the android platform…? I believe you will find this post highly useful on your end. I have just completed to develop a series of five short video clips that guide you through the steps you should take in order to set up the required environment on your PC and develop your first application for the android platform. Before you move forward make sure you already have the JDK installed on your PC.

The video applies for the Eclipse IDE. What about those that use NetBeans under Ubuntu 9.04, is it the same process ?

hi igor, u can try the netbeans plug-in at http://kenai.com/projects/nbandroid. i have no experience using it so i cannot tell how good it is. my feeling u will find the eclipse option the best option for android development. good luck! haim.

I’m not able to fetch the AVD from the repository.
Any idea why this should happen ?
Failed to fetch URL https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/repository.xml, reason: Connection timed out: connect

moti, my guess is that there is a networking problem on your end.. try the non secured networking option… maybe it will work on your end…. good luck! haim.
